Coming In From the Cold

‘Coming in from the Cold’ will increase the representation of Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities in our archive. Follow our blog featuring project updates and insights  at www.aiutrust.wordpress.com.

‘Coming in from the Cold’ will operate across Greater Manchester in two phases:

Phase One – Feb to Aug 2017 An initial grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) will allow us to research BME heritage projects and identify gaps. We will conduct an audit of recent activity, locating where outputs have been archived. We will also commission a survey of BME communities across Greater Manchester, to understand more about their distribution and visibility. We will then develop a strategic plan to encourage and support further BME heritage projects over the course of Phase Two.

Phase Two – Jan 2018 to Jan 2021  If the HLF approve our plan, Phase Two will support targeted BME communities to develop and deliver their heritage projects, providing advice, training and resources. We will also archive collected material and help groups to share their work and findings with others.
