Olaudah Equiano, Son of Africa tells the story of Olaudah Equiano, a major figure in the 18th century abolitionist movement in Britain. Kidnapped and enslaved from his home in Africa, Equiano was able to buy his freedom in 1766. He became involved in abolition campaigning and published his “Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano or Gustavus Vassa, the African” in 1789.
