Mandela, Manchester is compilation of poems which arose from classroom workshops in a dozen schools, in the reality of the thriving cosmopolis which is Manchester.  The poets write about themselves, their families with origins in many parts of the world, their streets, their neighbourhoods, their futures and many aspects of life in their city, with a bold critical consciousness that also characterises the life of Mandela.

The project represents a collaboration between the Education Trust, Manchester City Council, The University of Manchester.
