The exhibition is back by popular demand!
On the 14th February, our pop-up exhibition ‘The Missing Chapter: Black Chronicles’ will be appearing in the Performance Space of Central Library once again.
A selection of the stunning portraits were on show at some of our 2019 Black History Month events, but we’ve decided to make it a priority to give this collection a whole day to itself.
The exhibition will include 30 remarkable image panels, reproduced from rare 19th century photographs portraying people of African, Caribbean and South Asian descent during the Victorian era in Britain. There will also be the opportunity to watch exclusive films which feature insights into the lives of those in the portraits.
We’re especially excited to present this exhibition during LGBTQ+ History Month, as many of the portraits highlight hidden and underrepresented stories of LGBTQ+ people of colour who lived in Victorian times.
When: 11am-3pm, 14/02/2020
Where: Performance Space, Central Library
