Support for Educators

We have plenty to offer teachers and other educators who want to explore Global Majority experiences, histories and cultures, in their work with young people.

We can support your contextual knowledge and confidence in working with Global Majority histories. Our library collection offers a wide range of publications from trustworthy sources and reading for pleasure.

We publish blogs on a range of subjects, many featuring the histories and experiences captured in our archive collections, as well as reading lists and book reviews.

Our archive collections and oral histories capture important local stories and histories.

You can listen to short oral history clips on our Soundcloud channel, which you can draw from in your teaching. This guide tells you how to search our library and archive collections.

Educational Resources

We are building a range of anti-racist educational resources based on our collections. These resources include contextual pieces introducing the histories captured in our archives, reading/resource lists, and activities that you can download and use in your work.

Self-Led Tours
and Activities

We welcome self-led visits from teachers and educators and the young people you work with. We have created some resources for self-led visits, which will offer some structure and activities.

Engagement Activities

We offer engagement activities to youth groups, in many cases built around the young people’s interests and needs. We also support school teaching, by hosting visits from schools and occasionally contributing to classroom teaching.
